The Nova Apartments are located in Nicolaas Maesstraat in the Amsterdam Old-South district.
This location means that the apartments are a favourite with tourists and business visitors alike. There are easy connections to the South Axis (Zuidas) business district, the WTC and the RAI.
Then after work or during a short trip, the Old South is a great place to hang out. You will find here the most exclusive shops and the best restaurants in the city, but also plenty of culture. The elegant Museum district, for example, houses the national Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the city’s Stedelijk Museum. The Concertgebouw concert hall and the “green” Museumplein square are just a few hundred metres’ walk away. At the Museumplein you will also discover a large supermarket if you are inspired to self-cater.
Great for a sunny day: the Vondelpark is just 5 minutes’ walk from the Nova Apartments. This popular city park is a huge open-air theatre in the summer months, full of joggers, skaters, people-watchers on the terraces, sun-worshippers and tourists.From the Nova Apartments to the old heart of Amsterdam? In about a quarter of an hour you can walk to the canals. And there are also various bus and tram connections.
From Schiphol, it is about 15 minutes by taxi to Nova Apartments. There are also various buses you can take, both during the day and in the evening or at night. You board them in Schiphol Plaza, directly in front of the arrival and departure halls. One of these is the 197 bus, which can drop you at a stop on the Museumplein, from where it takes less than a minute to walk to the apartments.
You can also take the train to Amsterdam. Look up train information at www.ns.nl From Amsterdam Central Station you can take a taxi or change to a tram to the Nova Apartments.
A tram ride from Amsterdam Central Station to the Nova Apartments takes about 15 minutes. Tram 12 stops at Museumplein, and from there it is less than a minute’s walk to the apartments. From the tram stop you turn into Baerlestraat, with the Concertgebouw behind you on your right. The second street on the right is Nicolas Maesstraat, where you will find the apartments at number 72.
From the A10 ring road, take exit Oud Zuid (no. S108). Follow the signs to Oud Zuid and cross the Amstelveenseweg to the first roundabout. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit, this is Cornelis Krusemanstraat, which then becomes Lairessestraat. Follow this until it ends at Museumplein, and turn right off this, from where the 2nd street on the right is Nicolaas Maesstraat. After 100 metres, you will find the apartments on the right-hand side at number 72.
Parking in Amsterdam is difficult and expensive. The best option is to leave your car at one of the P+R, or Park and Rides. The closest P+R is at Stadionplein.
